I'm sure you've seen it on the news by now or somewhere else on the internet, but if not then here is a link...

I was on my way back from my daughter's baby shower while Claire and my two youngest children sought saftety in the basement of our home in Forest Lake, MN. It was a scarey deal. We were fortunate in that everyone is safe and the power was only off for about 12 hours which we sat out at a motel across from the Mall of America. Others in Hugo (just south of us) were not as fortunate. Our prayers are with everyone effected by this severe weather event.

I've been through Hugo, MN twice since the tornado went through. There are lots of downed trees and houses that are completely demolished as if a bomb struck them. The local authorities have most of Hugo roped off with Police tape and are detouring traffic around it. All-in-all it makes a person so grateful for what they've got. How blessed most of us are.

Here are some pictures of the devastation...

Craig,

It seems that all of us in the world now have these things happen, and its good news that you and your family are ok.

I'm from Sheffield in England and the floods last year here showed me that these things happen now to anyone, we were lucky we were half way up a hill so the floods stopped before hitting our house.

Take care

Keep safe and out of harm's way. We don't need any more losses to the VFP community right now.

BTW, what's new with VFPStudio?

The VFP Studio 2009 project work by Bo Durban and myself continues. We will be coming out with more stuff in the near future regarding the project. We expect to have the website we've been working on up sometime in the next few weeks. I will also be giving a presentation on VFP Studio at Southwest Fox in October.

VFP Studio is being built using the Visual Studio Shell, DLR, and other very recent technologies from Microsoft that fall under the Visual Studio Extensibility (VSX) umbrella. It has sometimes been difficult to gauge how long something will take to implement or whether we will need to rewrite or rework a portion of the system due to changes made by Microsoft in the architecture. We’re on the bleeding edge of this thing, but we are indeed still developing VFP Studio.

Thank you for your interest.
