Some simple Visual FoxPro code for retrieving the Longitude and Latitude for a given address.
Visual FoxPro's APPEND FROM and COPY TO commands are incapable of dealing with the Excel 2007 formats. In this post, I present a pretty decent solution to this problem allowing Visual FoxPro developers to import from, export to, and even create the new Excel formats (XLS, XLSX, XLSM, and XLSB) even if Office 2007 isn't installed on the machine running this code.

The directions for installing/registering the DDEX Provider that is included as part of Microsoft's Sedna project for Visual FoxPro is incomplete and, in some cases, just plain wrong. Here I present a super-simple backup solution for Visual FoxPro applications that can be implemented simply by including an exe and generating an ini file.
This update to the VFPCompression FLL provides fixes for issues with relative pathing when zipping folders and files that caused the previous versions of the FLL to fail unless a developer told the function to ignore pathing.

Using a loader/updater application for Visual FoxPro applications can greatly simplify the task of keeping users' systems up-to-date and problem free after the initial deployment. In this blog entry I present a solution I created for updating VFP applications.
Here I present the latest FLL that I've created that allows Visual FoxPro developers the ability to easily upload and download files while easily providing progress indication of the processes.
